nobody wanted to get depressed…

nobody wanted to get depressed...

stopped watching the news
stopped counting deaths from virus
and global warming
just getting back to normal
was man’s final delusion

memorial day…

memorial day

there can be
no
doubt
that
we
walk on graves
fallen souls
beneath
our feet
sons
of
many lands
all
who died
for
one nation
but
that nation
has forgotten
not only
their
names
and
places
of
birth
but
that
deep
bone marrow
of
belief
that held them up
in
battle
when death
was
so apparent
they
would not
surrender
nor
forsake
freedom’s cause
unlike
those who walk
in
marble halls
of
congress
with
marble
so thick
that
the bones
of
the dead
cannot be felt
nor
disrupt
a traitor’s
quest
for
power
would be
that
the dead
could arise
and
once again
defend
the
why
some
chose
to
die

the book of dying 1:4…

but men chastised claiming their righteousness
war was good bringing all peace
filling the markets so none starved
what’s done is good for all

carnival pitchman and other itinerant showmen

tho seas are rising
some still stand outside the ark
saying have no fear
their business is to sell dreams
when umbrellas would be best

hiding in plain view…

the ugliness
of this nation
is
visible
but
like
the emperor’s
new clothes
the senate
and
the courts
refuse
to admit
to
the naked hate
and
lawless ambition
parading
down
white
marble corridors
corridors
which were
once
reserved
for those
who
truly care
for
human rights
and
dignity
it ‘s
a matter
of
protocol
politicos
say
adding
we must endure
such
behaviors
out of convention
but
we have
good intentions
for
the future
however
i recall
that
the road
to hell
is paved
with good intentions

selfie files of peafowls…

selfie files of peafowls

no time to listen
you’re sure you’ve all the answers
preening your feathers

preening your feathers
as lions sing hunting songs
no time to listen

no time to listen
so lions devour your flesh
preening your feathers
