thoughts from old nick’s santa….

thoughts from old nick's santa

such
an
old temptation
lust
lying dormant
in most
the whole year long
until
that
ceremonial
religious holiday
when
kissing
coveted
neighbors
and
friends
under
the mistletoe
and
indulgent requests
for
needless gifts
reveals
its presence
in
the human heart
oh
some would say
it’s
harmless frivolity
nothing
more
surely
nothing
abhorrent
to which
i
must reply
is
a lustful
lie

love or lust…symptoms the same…

i had to stop
by
aunt bea’s
to
discuss
a good friend
of
mine
whose current
love interest
has
alienated him
from
his friends
and
business associates
whom
he is dependent upon
for
a good portion
of
his income
i needed
to
consult
with
aunt bea
about
how to
approach him
aunt bea
said
honey
he’s
got
his nose
wide open
thinks
he’s smelling
a rose
but
ain’t got
nothing
but
trouble
and
there’s
one thing
i know for sure
love
is not only
blind
but
also
deaf

the eyes have it…

the young priest
entered
the hospital
in route
to visit
an
elderly parishioner
his path
was diverted
by
hospital security
while
his eyes
were diverted
by
a most attractive
woman
wearing
a white
tight-fitting
sheer summer dress
he stumbled
ever
so slightly
as
he took a seat
she
approached
the seat
next to him
all the while
feeling
his eyes
exploring
every line
of
her body
crossing her legs
and
leaning
towards him
she
whispered
i understand
you have
a personal relationship
with god
how’s that
working out
for
you

dark passages-book 2:1…

dp2-1

using
the name
of the most holy
and
words
taken from
the prophets
sorcerers
cast spells
upon the earth
driving
all
inhabitants
to acts
of lust
and
greed
so that
fields
were filled
with blood
and
crops
were trampled
beneath
the boots
of war
and
it
was called
envy
and the first
of the last days
were upon them

have you seen…

i cannot recall
the ride
from the city
the cold water
around my feet
and
rushing through
my lungs
seems
so
comforting
unholy water
washing away
my fears
a baptism
of human lust
has brought
me here
to drink
from this chalice
of unfulfilled
childhood dreams
a chalice
brought to my lips
on the blade
of a spear
thrust into my side
by
someone
who did not
even know
my name
