formication…

i
listen
for
sounds
just beyond
these
invisible doors
wondering
if
anyone
hears my words
i ask myself
are these poems
just
ushered
into
darkholes
where
each
simile
and
metaphor
are pulled
into
fields
of
apathy
from
which
they will never
escape
nor
send
back
signals
of
their survival
it would appear
the
whole
process
is like that
of
faith
belief
beyond
reason
writing
to
cleanse
that
feeling
of
insects
crawling
beneath
society’s
skin

having read more letters from a life apostle…

having read more letters from a life apostle

i see
the flesh
upon your face
fall into
pools
of platitudes
love lost
love gained
empty refrains
of a life
seeking fame
on
a worn out keyboard
with
sticky keys
sticky
from
yesterday’s lunch
keys
more resilient
than
the passion
you’ve expressed
for life
or
demonstrated
in
fantasized boudoirs
napoleon
dominated
dreams
why not
have
another wine
it may
help
give flight
to your
next
epistle

as great…as they thought…

as great as they thought

now came to the village
a sage
and
poet
of many books
who complained
that there were
beggars
writing verse
so vile
and
common
as to fail
to light
the fire
of thought
asking
bapa dola
what
should be done
about
these
literary castaways
bapa dola
said
such thoughts
and
words
create
a strong undertow
beneath
the mind’s surface
which pulls
all
writers
down

one day i’m…

what is it
that
you’re
afraid of
does the fear
of rejection
hold your words
from the page
did that
teenage
chrysalis of fear
never open
leaving you
with your wings
tight to your side
while
clinging to a leafless branch
of dreams
encased
in your own
self-pity

a slight oversight…

roll out that large
national geographic map
hang it on any wall
throw a poison dart
here’s
what  you’ll find
no matter
where it lands
a country
county
city
or burg
with a mythological history
that excludes facts
of crimes committed
everybody’s
a good guy
except those
narrow minded individuals
who opposed us
us
being anybody
living within the sphere
of the dart’s poison
usually
the dart
lands on a history book
since poison
attracts poison
like magnets
but
that aside
most folks
fail to appreciate
the amount of creative writing
that went into producing
the historical facts
taught to our children
a steady diet of
s’mores  and sugar water
prescribed for weight loss
well it certainly works
on the minds of children
those little atrophied centers
of higher thought
bought those facts
as
real
so off they went
to fight for
well
whatever the history book
told them
they were fighting for

creative writing…

i have decided
to write my own
biography
i shall do so
under a pen name
in order to increase
the percieved credibility
of an outside author
and
to eliminate
any
questions of
conflict of interest
on my part
i shall
of course
take the same
liberties
as do
most historians
with their country’s
records on human rights
or finger pointing
about who caused
what
when
and where
thus
creating
the best
posibble
rememberance
of
me
it
should read
like most
political
