actuarial dilemma…

actuarial dilemma

are they
still counting
yes
i thought
they’d be done
by
now
they’re not
weren’t they supposed
to
be done
yes
so what’s
taking
so long
people
keep on
denying
and
defying
common sense
so
they keep on
dying
from
the virus

ain’t been a good year…

they’re taking my sister’s ashes
to the beach she always enjoyed
guess it beats being stuck inside
icu with all those damn tubes
but somehow
it’s hard to be consoled
there’s three of us left
the oldest and the youngest
and me
in the middle
the three of us
are feeling well for our age
but somehow
it’s hard to be consoled
we finally got some decent rain
and things are greening up
this was the year
she planned to visit
getting away from her city apartment
wanting to see
the famed california lifestyle
she would have enjoyed it here
all of the glitter and such
but somehow
it’s hard to be consoled
hospital did all that they could
and in fact
she had shown some real progress
but couldn’t breath on her own
the new president says
he’s really going to address
the pandemic
not like the last guy
but somehow
it’s hard to be consoled
did i mention
they’re taking my sister’s ashes
to the beach she always enjoyed

final election results…

fangs dripping with blood
victims prostrate at his feet
still this nation bleeds
state rights are to be ignored
hoping for dictatorship

trump murders the easter bunny…

many of you
have
accepted
the
needless deaths
of
thousands
of
americans
as
a result
of
the gross incompetence
of
the white house
but
i
personally
cannot
accept
the slaughter
of
the easter bunny
because
of
covid-19
inaction
oh
that veiled excuse
that
we will be
opened
by
easter
was no more
than
a smoke screen
while
the president
family
and
friends
stuffed
their wallets
with
our tax dollars
whatever
my problem
is
the assassination
of
my
candy man
the easter bunny
and
his family
they
are
history
and
for me
that’s
the last straw
we
must
rise up
and
end
this pandemic
of
incompetence

covid-19 obituaries…

among the dead
a child
someone’s mother
as well
as
loving fathers
oh
and
grandparents
too many
to
mention
by
name
but
you know them
they were
your friends
neighbors
and
colleagues
they
perished
well
were
politically sacrificed
for
fascist ideology
and
delusions of grandeur
delusions
unrestrained
by
those
desiring
political supremacy
supremacy
over
duty to nation
sworn duty
but
it seems
a person’s
pledge
is
not
nearly
as
important
as
their purse
