communal existence
coexisting pods
grouped
according to
some agreed upon
need
of
the others
somewhere
along
life
things changed
youthful ways
gave way to
acceptable
goals
and
decisions
of
the others
no longer
was it deemed
possible
to fulfill dreams
or
wander off into
the nothingness
of
tomorrow
everything
had to comply
with
the plans
of
the others
confirmation
of
self
personal identity
and
satisfaction
relied
upon
the others
questions
only arose
as death
became apparent
and
the walls
of compliance
were weakening
it was then
that
the others
really
didn’t matter
anymore
so here we are standing in the middle of the road not sure how we all got here but i know this doesn’t end well some people are busy on their iphones or ipads others wander off the road for awhile traveling or working on one thing or another but everyone returns to the road i must admit available time has not until recently been a factor in my decisions and i suspect the rest of the folks on this road are the same otherwise why would we all be standing in the middle of the road
most go through their lives following a prepared script then come the last lines with surprise the last act’s read though now they want to ad lib lines must be read as written

that seem
to still ring
with the laughter
of
friends
enjoying life
oh

around the world
acquired
during
traveling adventures

for
artwork
by
buying up
these framed
memories
oh
and
there’s boxes
and
boxes
of fullfilled dreams
to sort through
if
you have the time
but
just
a handful
of
deferred dreams
to add
to those
you already own
arrive early
and
scan this life
before
your
time
runs out
