forever ago

the nation’s
first charters
crafted
by
the founding fathers
concealed
their intent
to build
an empire
like
that in britain
a matter of
pure greed
and greed’s
cancerous effects
though denied by historians
was evident
for
one
merely needed to count
the slaughtered bodies
that
history had disguised
as
acts of valor
by men
claiming that freedom
was
their reason for murder
so indigenous
women and children
were just
collateral damage
during
the nation’s founding
the fields of battle
a place of
scorched earth
and
rape
in liberty’s name
not your
usual concept
of
patriotic acts
of
valor
but crimes
of
hate and greed
which was
infused into
the nation’s fiber
but
the founders knew
that
few
would
want to die
for another’s greed
so
parables were created
to conceal
the truth
so war’s dead
could be wrapped
in flags
and
national fables
