and

will
soon ascend
into
the winds of time
graying
tomorrow’s skies
obscuring
visions
of
freedom and justice
and
concealing
the ashes
of
sacrificed souls
memories lost
within
time’s blowing sands

when the winds
die down
there’ll be no trace
