once again three…

before the old man
stood
three altars
on
each altar
was
an offering
to the right
were
the crushed bodies
of
parents’ children
given
to a nation’s pride
to
the left
were prayer flags
and
written prayers
offerings
to
man’s creation
of
god
the center altar
seemed empty
but
it was said
that
it held
the souls
of
believers
offerings
to
an unseen god
offerings
of
a lifetime
with
no visible reward
for
the sacrifice made
only
what the heart
has lead
them
to offer
service
to
those
in need

  1. I like this – especially the “offerings to man’s creation of God.” It seems to me that God’s only two commandments are to love Him and to love one another – anything that doesn’t include those is horse-pucky. I really like how your mind works.
