as life’s light fades…

how many
poets
have sat
by
evening’s light
pondering
the end
of life
what words
did they
inscribe
to convey
the feelings
that washed
over them
was
it
fear
wonderment
or
just
a sense
of emptiness
emptiness
for having
spent
a lifetime
crafting words
that
so few
have
heard
amidst
the noise
of life

  1. If, the poet is a Jewish Zionist, then, they have a far greater possibility of having their work published/posted to an enormous audience, but the price is very high to enter that fame walk… complete allegiance to the terror entity that calls itself Israel.

  2. This transported me to many evenings watching the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico from Naples Pier and the beach. I am still searching for a way to convey the complex emotions it conjures in my soul. I smile because you come close with this – but not totally there. Thanks, friend.
