camera settings…

camera settings...

when one
is young
the aperture
is
wide open
the light
of experience
pours in
unfiltered
and
unrestrained
however
time
changes
the settings
on life’s aperture
closing it down
for more
depth of field
and
towards
the end
the aperture
is closed
even more
memory’s light
produces
such
faded views
and
then
one day
the batteries
are gone

  1. You seem to be thinking of death these days. Yes, I seem too need to do that every few months. Maybe I’m getting ready, maybe I’m finding a perspective for living today with an aging body. Once again, this morning, I had to remind myself to enjoy each moment instead of worrying that I don’t have enough energy to do what is enjoyable.
