it has never been about prizes these plush toys of cars villas and coins are mere tokens of the game most of the time you never got what was in reach and that didn’t matter for it has always just been about winning
These claw cranes always make me think of disappointed kids moaning “aw, man” when the crane comes back empty, and it’s a nice pairing in your poem of that clawing for more and more. A villa does sound nice, though. If I had one, I wonder if I would look at other villas with better views and want them instead of mine.
Is it really all about our acquisitions and all about winning? There comes a time in each of our lives when we ask the question, ” Is this all there is?” We know and realise that there is nothing intrinsically wrong with wealth, fame, power and position. All this stuff which reflects our winning style. Then what is it that makes us ask the above question? What is it that leaves us so disoriented, disturbed and lost?
Winning is at times mad.
Not bothered of that is attainable but groping for that which is unattainable. .
Is that winning?
boring life.

Nice one, Charlie. Or how you play the game.
Winning seems to be the goal for many but learning to lose graciously is more worthy, perhaps not in the claw game though.
Worst part about it is it’s targeted at little children: “get ’em while they’re young.”
That is a great post and holds a great message.
