every now
and then
aunt bea
get the giggles
you know
the kind
folks get in church
when a pastor
inadvertently says something
that can be
and
is
taken completely
the wrong way
spreading
muffled giggles
throughout the congregation
such was the case
as aunt bea
read about
the stink bugs
in the halls
of congress
during
the government shutdown
seems like the little pests
were attracted
to the place
since
no one was doing
anything
about them
or
anything else
aunt bea
said
i wonder if
they
truly understand
the gravity
of this event

Taking it for granted/
Your poems always make my day … I feel like I learn something new, see something in a new way, each time I stop by.
Aunt Bea is a gem — I can see how she would get the giggles! I think the stink bugs were already in the Capitol building, before and after the government shutdown.
I truly love Aunt Bea, she’s my kind of gal! 🙂
birds of same feather…
… only if they were also aware of Einsteinian physics.
Enjoyed this, Thanks Aunt Bea
I’m giggling and smirking.
that gave me the giggles 🙂 it’s all very confusing and circus like for us watching here in Australia – hope it never happens again
That’s quite an image you’ve conjured there, Charles.
That’s a terrific collage, Charles and the poem have me a big smile,
