guilty as expected…

guilty as expected

aunt bea said
some days
i can barely
remember my name
it’s all this confusion
in the world
it’s certainly not
my age
though lately
my age
is more
like a countdown
i feel the confusion
arising from stones
of self-interest
flung into the air
without regard
for whom
they might strike
when they fall
into a world
crowded with hate
and suspicion
those struck
are certain
that they know who
threw the stones
in most cases
it wasn’t who
they thought it was
but it ‘s convenient
to blame your
known enemies
it helps to
the scars
of ignorance
the need
for revenge
