go on down
to jordan
go wading
in the water
wade away
your sins
wash them
so clean
that heaven’s gates
will open
just for you
when
that
sweet chariot
comes swinging low
low enough
to trouble
the water
now
don’t you
go getting concerned
cuz ‘
government folks
ain’t there
to see you rise
from the ashes
of life’s tribulation
they’re busy
busy
as usual
washing
the blood
of the poor
off their hands
we hindus do the same in Ganges 🙂
sorry but i really dont think it works.
God, isn’t that the truth? And you have said it so well. Great poem, Charlie.
Reblogged this on Earth in black and white.
heck..you’re poetry is always sharp as a knife charles..
WOW! 🙂
I love biting poetry…
A poem of redemption– nice, Charles!
Look behind the government, too.
That’s a certainty
Thinking this one over…nice. Have a great week.
This is one of my favourites of yours. I like the rhythm, the sentiment and how it kicks butt. It’s got it all….
So well stated. Politics is a dirty business.
