and it came
to pass
that those
who dwelled
in the shadows
gained dominion
over the earth
while those
who sought
the light
continued to pray
for sins
yet to be committed
so
the darkness grew
but a few souls
lit bonfires
of desperation
fueled by hope
as beacons
but
as hope
was exhausted
war
the ignorance
of mankind
spread across
the globe
and the darkness
was upon
all
the lands
Darkness prevails all over.
Damn, this is a powerful poem–really, really powerful, my friend. Hope you are having a lovely weekend————–
Amen!
will i call it scary or scary truth? very vivid and powerful.
again and again we light bonfires
of desperation
fueled by hope
as beacons…what else can we do…
…and so it is… so it seems always to have been… Dare we hope for change?
A powerful poem, striking
I love your thoughts on poetry, would like to quote you one day.
what is one to do when all hope is exhausted…
