you are staring into the mirror as if it can change your fate it has no power only in fairy tales does it transform the grotesque gourd of life into a magical carriage holding your glass slippers this world requires that you take up arms against ignorance and crawl through the narrow passageways lined with razor wire prejudices to reach a tomorrow defined only by you
Wow – what a fantastic poem – really love
‘crawl through
the narrow passageways
lined
with razor wire prejudices’
– it is so true – have to be forever on the lookout for and fight against prejudice
Great comparison with fairy tale Cinderella and ignorance and razor wire prejudices — a powerful comparison to show how much of a fairy tale the pumpkin carriage and glass slippers are.

this is a truth i believe from heart and soul. its far better to die trying than dreaming in front of a mirror.
A good message! Thanks for keeping me thinking.
Sad but true–a difficult passage for sure!
absolutely awesome…one of my favorites.
This is so beautifully written. I believe each one of us can be the face of change. Thanks for putting inspiration out there for others.
Thanks for the positive message.
honestly…i’d prefer the glass slippers and a prince kissing me gently…but something says me you’re right…
no matter if the razor blades scrape us on the way out, we gotta keep goin’… Great positiveness
Would the fairytale were true, but alas the poem is.
“this world
requires that
you
take up arms
against ignorance”
Indeed it does – in whatever way your gifts allow!!
