who built these walls of expectation that confine us to a reasonable approach to life are they crafted by our own beliefs or ancient structures left behind as an inheritance from some relative we hardly knew and never liked
Love the intent look in that hawk eye’s, although I expect he’s concentrating on something other than the walls that confine humans “to / a reasonable / approach / to life”… – that’s how closely we should examine our belief structures, inherited or however else we came by them.
“They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devasted;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.”
Isaiah 61:4
yep – who built them..? seems like some of them have been there forever and it’s not that easy to tear them down…i tremendously enjoy your hawk chronicles…probably telling you for the tenth time…
I just read Ruth’s (gospelwriter) poem and yours follows very well.
More apropos than you could know for today. Thanks.
I have often wondered about this too. More so how to loosen the chains of “normality”.
Lovely write,
Malene
Sadly, I think we are all to blame.
Gosh, I know about those ancient structures–afraid I have a lot of those. Great poem, Charles!
very serious questions.

Charles–your poem reminded me of this:
“They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devasted;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.”
Isaiah 61:4

however when we fall back to iT, and seems to gently/slowly/but surely pick us back up…
maybe just back in order & inline
Walls of expectations… but there are hopefully windows
The expression on that birds face – haha.
Sadly, there is an expectation to conform…
By the way Charles, your photography is excellent xx
Great questions…. sometimes these “walls of expectation” are very difficult to walk through…
I guess we let others build this wall for us .. and often find trapped inside 😐
Oh look! I see inside! The expectations are mine! 😀
Another stunning photograph!
And nevermind those walls, they’re built of smoke and mirrors.
