night
and
day
adrift
no one looking
for a small vessel
hull taking on water
the parental mask
now beneath the waves
of fear caused by aids
consciousness just a blank stare
into the void of existence
stomach distended
last stage
before
death
by starvation
no search planes
insight
no television
coverage
just the silence
of despair
another vessel
containing a child’s
soul
fades
into the dark waters
of
ignorance

Very well written…and sad, yet notions ring of truth in pains of life, of death, and placement, sometimes very foolishly
I am stock piling poems that will protect me from the flood of anger over tragedy unaddressed. Thanks for this one. Sue
This poem is very strong. Its bitterness and anger go hand in hand with the underlying sadness and heartbreak.

The children suffer for the sins of the father (mother)… so sad and true. Well said. May their little souls float away to peace. Heartspell
