having been
evicted
from the garden
of eden
but
given
a lease
on his environment
man
like
many renters
wreaked havoc
on his abode
plundering
and
wasting
its resources
but now
a few
have begun
to place
genes
and
seeds
into a frozen ark
hoping
that science
will save
some remnants
for
future tenants
while most
societal residents
still
fail
to see
that
their
frozen art
is
earth

I read about that. Interesting project, but it does resolve the core issue — as you point out here.
we’ve done so much damage to the earth already.. and sometimes it’s a bit frightening with what methods they try to turn the steering wheel around..ugh…there are some good plans though as well…
Man has ignored his commitment to earth .He still continues to do so.
There really is an ark, in the antarctic, I think. It contains seeds and such for after an ELE.
The frozen ark for the gene pool as I recall is in England ….thanks for commenting.
Really?
Really…check it out at http://www.frozenark.org/…have a great weekend my friend.
And you! Thanks :)
This is so true.
Spot on Charles!
look who is saving who… doubt there will be poets on board. Interesting write, my friend.
I love the many layers of meaning in this poem.
Never knew we had such a thing as a frozen ark, the way that we abuse the earth, they likely need to preserve dna as there will be nothing left. Must admit I have never seen or heard of a rosy tree snail, the spotted leopard was very beautiful though
Reblogged this on … but I digress.
A powerful poem for our treatment of nature. I had not heard about the Frozen Ark, and I had to look it up. Thankfully, there are seed banks set up to restore plants. But I agree that the best thing would be to protect species while they’re still alive.
i hope they will wake up and realize the priceless planet they are ruining simply because of selfishness!
