now
the old man
knew
that the privacy
of a person’s
holy book
was more
sacred
than
the prophecies
or
prophets
who wrote it
folks
were
more than
willing
to go to war
and
kill others
to protect
the intimacy
of words
from
the divine
and
all
the shared secrets
enclosed within
so
that’s
where
he hid
his gin

Brilliant write!
Hide the spirits with the Holy Spirit
The age old place to hide secrets. I think many people hide with their gin…
love it!
You are a brilliant poet, as always.
As so many have said, it’s a safe place to hide money, too!
Perfect.
What a killer that – open the BOOK and release the GIN
superb write.
… or grin… or gun… or djinn…
Ha ha! Clever, funny, and makes a very fine point – or even three.
Also, how effective is that audio file? Love it. :-)
rad.
You never know what people hide in their bible, the empty bible with the gin made me laugh.
Love the kick at the end Charles.
Nice, sly– a great twist, Charles/
