Nice image indeed. I love the open-endedness of this. On one hand a newborn puppy is so cute. . . on the other. . . if this poem were addressed to an adult human, wow. . . the image.
I can see how constantly chasing self-help books can get bewildering… but I do have a special place in my heart for The Little Engine That Could from way back.
I think that, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is one of the best “self help” books, however, it’s as you say: all the books and ideologies are just pointers and some point in the wrong direction too! …so it comes down to the pathless – path to rebirthing the self, because we are born who we truly are: Buddha/Christ Nature, and then, society destroys the Authentic Self and the chase is on…
Some choices are hard, others easy, we need to listen and wait for the answer. Love the inclusion of the little engine, we all can do, just which direction
Ha! The great thing about being retired is not have employers force this stuff on me. Phew!
Great little piece, Charles.
I’m not :-)

Just stop at the 1930s childhood classic. “I think I can, I think I can…”
