aunt bea looking at the wsj saw a picture of putin tears flowing she suddenly gasped and said things in russia are worse than i thought the stench of politics has even got him crying
who does not adore Aunt Bea at this point? she always talks plainly and never pulls a punch… and yet the picture you have above this poem is of putin! tsp, tsk.
LOL :-)
The stench of politics is so exasperating that the end is exactly wrenching
crocodiles cry as they munch on their kills… tears can be quite deceptive.
Love Aunt Bea, so true.
Aunt Bea nails it every time!
hehe – I’m inclined to side with Sharmishtha Basu on this one :)
The more I read of aunt bea, the more I like her.
honestly…no..don’t even start writing what i thought when i heard that putin is president again….aunt bea knows..i’m sure..
Hi,
I love the poem, well said. :)

Beauty, Aunt Bea! But then, if Chekhov is a representative, melancholy is a meal ticket.
I do hope she hasn’t seen a recent debate here at home– everyone of us should be crying!
Haaaaaaaaaaa! …
… and ditto Marilynn …
